Still Apothecary

Natural skincare made in very small batches. We designed a label system for amber glass that holds twenty products, three sizes and two languages, and still looks quiet on the shelf.

The challenge

Still had grown to twenty products, each with its own label made by a different freelancer. Ingredient lists in Portuguese and English took up half of every label, and the shop shelf looked crowded and loud, which was the opposite of what the products promised.

The approach

We built one label grid for all three bottle sizes, with a strict hierarchy: product name, purpose, then everything else in small type on the back. Colour is used for one thing only, the time of day the product is meant for. All labels print on the same cream paper, so a single print run covers the whole range.

The outcome

Print costs dropped by forty percent, and adding a new product now takes an afternoon. The range won an honourable mention at the Dieline Awards, and the founders say customers now ask for the products by number, the way they would in an old pharmacy.

Two years later, the guide is still the most used file on our drive.
